Re: this forum of ours
I suck at playing.
I buy/trade to get me as near as possible to the sound I want/like.
I've lost serious amounts of money giving it no 2nd though until now.
I need to save and I have gas for emg's in my charvel. I wanna mod my jet city.
I won't be buying nothing now tho. I need to try to get better at playing. I can play one solo spot on (nothing else matters) and about 30 part solos.
I am similar to some on here spending more time researching gear looking for deals than actually playing. Like now lol

Re: this forum of ours
I agree with most of whats just been said on here.
and after the results of the practice hours thread, maybe we could all do with more time spent playing and a little less time gasing
You could give someone the best amp and guitar in the world... but if they play it like sh*t its gonna sound like sh*t
I even read Jeff Beck saying once that he would spend hours sometimes perfecting just 3 notes...

Well, I like to get on here daily and see what's going on with everyone - even if I have nothing to contribute or nothing to ask anyone of; it's still fun to hear about the various happenings of my Fellow Orangers!
And to add - sold my Rockerverb 100 today so now I have to find an OR120 or OD120!!

Yeah this forum definitely contributes to GAS....Im on a mission to not buy anything for at least a year now. Im really happy with what I have and I need to dig in. I told my wife she has to give me a shot to the head if I even consider buying something, ans I know she will look forward to it.

Awesome!!! Let me know when you get it. I am super loving my OR120! It gets so evil sounding! It's definitely old school!
I wanted to add the thoughts on the pedals. I hear so many bash Boss pedals. Truth is, I see Boss EVERYWHERE!! I watch a lot of live music, and some big pro acts to boot, and I've never seen a shortage of Boss pedals. As for MXR, I love them too, although I haven't seen a lot of mxr bashing to my recollection.

I check in when I can, but usually respond to thread rather than start them. There hasn't been much to respond to lately, thus fewer posts.

Re: this forum of ours
man it's true. I haven't been on the forums too often lately either. I guess at some point we all get a little busy, and as much as I hate to say it, I just haven't had time to check here so much.
Internet forums become addicting, I have to remind myself that the reason they are there is to get me closer to my goals in real life, not to spend all my time on the forums themselves. I've just been doing more real life stuff lately i guess.

Re: this forum of ours
I have to adm/kit, my ulterior motive is a boring night shift job
But why do what I did and ask NEW orange related questions
Doesn't have to be about jjs this and breakin that.
Where did all the orange pa gear end up?
How does the tv attenuator REALLY work?
What's next?
Etc.etc.
Couldn't help but notice like 10 threads with new responses after this one

since skill is only relative, i think y'all should spend more time on here. then, i'll practice more and become a great guitarist (relative to everyone else, of course)
it's a brilliant strategy. instead of working your way up to the top, you shove everyone else down to the bottom

I check every day but don't post as much anymore. Some of it interests me, some doesn't. Been trying to spend less time on the computer and more time living I guess.
