Re: Orange Custom Shop 40th anniversary
I'm not sure I understand the point of this video, unless it just shows that they demo some rarer gear.. what do you think?
I'd like to hear some more of the custom shop for sure, cranked without the ocd into it.

Re: Orange Custom Shop 40th anniversary
anyone who does a good sounding demo of an orange gets my respect. but i do agree that thought the OCD is pretty standard issue these days, it'd be better to demo without pedals.

The only way to get a distortion sound with the non master volume Orange and not getting deaf is using a pedal.
The Marshall Jubilee has a master volume so u can use it without losing your hearing.

No such problems with the OR50. It has a great Master Volume. It's apparently a bargain!

Re: Orange Custom Shop 40th anniversary
This is the way it used to be always done....by cranking it. The amp is a 50 watt, you can crank it to get the goods. I play my OR50 non-custom shop in non-master mode a lot and crank it good enough to get some good overdrive tones with no pedals. This is a demo environment not a small venue, you should be able to crank it to the max.allthatjazz wrote:The only way to get a distortion sound with the non master volume Orange and not getting deaf is using a pedal.

I still vote no pedals.....initially anyway, then you can show us how well it takes pedals too. But I don't want to hear a $100 pedal through a 5K + amp.
