I'm talking about the tremolo effect on the first few chords...ScottyDanger wrote:I am definitely not following. What was I supposed to see?
He always played Marshall Amps as far as I'm aware...this vid is from the 70's... Marshall like Orange I don't think made an amp with Tremolo.
Must admit I didn't spot it the first time... and I was watching the vid

I believe he's just using the volume-pot.

I second this. The video evidence is conclusive.misterfolkertsma wrote:I believe he's just using the volume-pot.

There actually were a few 1959T (Super Lead Tremolo) models made, though he seems to be doing the volume swell thing in the video. I think amps with built-in Tremolo are pretty swell.
It is alleged that one of the rented amps that Slash used while recording Appetite For Destruction was a 1959T that had been modded to convert the Tremolo circuit to an additional gain stage (or two).

There is a 1968 Plexi with a temelo circuit in it at a Guitar Center near me.Randy Bass wrote:There actually were a few 1959T (Super Lead Tremolo) models made, though he seems to be doing the volume swell thing in the video. I think amps with built-in Tremolo are pretty swell.

They also have a 50 watt non-tremolo 1968 Plexi across the room on a vintage 4x12. I have to resist the urge to turn it on and dime it every time I walk by.

Without looking at the vid, definitely a tremolo. But looking at it, I'd agree he's using the volume pot.

Yeah it amazed me when I realised just how he was doing it...
When they say Guitarists use to do it all from the volume pot... this guy really did

I thought tremolo @ first, then realized it wasn't perfectly consistent, then I noticed the scratchy pot Good ol' Budgie!

Didn't know that one... but I knew Metallica had covered Breadfan (another Budgie Song) when I saw them playing it in their 'tune up room' on some TV show before going to stage.bassdrop wrote:Just realized Budgie was the original band that did Crash Course in Brain Surgery.
