anyway, i take what JRogero does and polish them until they are microscopically flat, so he can etch more on top of it!
and all that, after time and LOTS of money, allows you to play angry birds on your smart phone!
PS: intel has a portland fab eh....
oh and ultimate GAS instrument? damn...i would really like a silverburst explorer, but there are so many guitars i GAS for on a daily basis.
Hope you didn't live in Steiner Ranch. I have a couple friends who are houseless right now.

One year left on Electrical Engineering undergrad. I just found out most people are happier doing that crap with a masters degree. Oh well.
I'd like free time to have a band, then I'll worry about gas.

I'm Assistant Manager for a small Social Media and SEO LLC.
Basically, we get hired to boost/improve their company's online presence.
We generate and maintain blogs, facebook and twitter accounts, and the like.
I get to work from home so it's pretty sweet.
Of course, I have my Master's in a completely unrelated field and I'm finishing my MFA work so I might be teaching at the collegiate level as early as 2012 so who knows?
Dream guitar would be a custom Artinger
Here's an example of his work...

I'm studying to become an Electronics Technician, because my dream job is to build electric guitars and amplifiers!
My dream guitar would be a custom shop Gibson SG carved out of a single, massive block of mahogany, with a slightly thinner body (already extremely thin, I know!), a neck profile somewhere in between the rounded '59 neck and the slim, tapered Sixties neck, probably closer to the '59, but not nearly as chunky, with a contoured heel. With a beautiful, extra-dark, jet-black ebony fingerboard with no inlays and a matching headstock veneer of the same wood, seventeen inch radius, and 1959 Les Paul Standard jumbo fretwire. And 496R/500T super ceramic humbuckers wired in similar configuration to Jimmy Page's Les Pauls, only with push/push pots instead of push/pull, and series/parallel switching in addition to phase switching. Topped off with silver/nickel hardware and pickup covers, and a late-sixties style black/ebony pickguard/pickup-ring. Most likely a dark Heritage Cherry lacquer finish; no "aging," but I'm not totally set on the color yet. Yes, I have given this a lot of thought, and I hope to save up $5,000 to approach the Gibson Custom Shop and make it happen someday. However, a one-piece guitar made of mahogany's a tall order, given the endangered status of mahogany, so I dunno if my dream guitar will ever be.
And the icing on the cake: Some bitchin' Orange full stack to match; maybe a Rockerverb or a genuine vintage model. Though, I tend to be more minimalistic, so more likely something AD.

I am a specialist drugs worker. I try to encourage/ assist people with problematic drug problems along a path of health & independence in addition to just straight rehab treatment. I find that people who can get into "life" (and that's different for everyone) have a much better long term chance of beating addiction than those that just get "treated".

I have a bachelor's in computer science and am a software developer for a company that... writes supply chain software.Ddjembe Mutombo wrote:What does everyone do for a living? And to make this somewhat relevant, what is your ultimate GAS instrument?
I'll start:
I work in international logistics.
I make sure products/commodities have the correct paperwork to cross international borders. Working on a MS in Decision Sciences (basically a fancy word for Supply Chain Management) so that I can move into business planning/forecasting.
My dream instrument would be a Steinway grand. I have played a few and they sound incredible. I'm not much of a pianist, but boy would that be such a treat for writing.

Re: OT: We already heard ages. Let's hear careers
Well, I had a major change about a year and half ago based on the sorry state of the economy. I spent 15 years working in digital marketing/enterprise Web development - ran part of the Global Business e-Commerce team for Sprint for 6 years then moved over to the digital agency world and worked on accounts for Waste Management, United HealthCare, and Nokia among others. When the agency world was hit hard in 2008/2009 I was finally laid off like over half of the company I worked for and made the move to the family Real Estate Investment and Property Management business. Totally different world and a small company. I am a regional supervisor (over see 5 large properties) and handle all marketing and IT. I do like it but its been quite a shock and change but I've grown into it now.
