Nice gear. That SVT cab has been defiled though. I have enough replacement tolex for it and I'd gladly donate it to them .

Re: the Sword
holy sheister! I've got an OR50 and an AD140HTC! Hell, even Tim Sult from Clutch is using an OR50 now! Why oh why don't I rule the universe with crushing riffs too?
Both of these bands used to be big OR120 users, now they've made a bit of a change. Speaks highly of those models, in my book. I love both of them. I intended to sell one and keep one, but we all know how that usually turns out.
Anyway, I'm liking the sword these days as well. I'm going to see them with Kyuss in Atanta later this month!

Re: the Sword
An old one should look like that, but a Classic model made a few years ago hasn't earned that kind of scarring. Ripping tolex off of a new cab is silly. My V4 cab has no tolex on the bottom and the plywood is even separating on the bottom, but it's nearly 40 years old. I can appreciate a genuine relic (no offense ).bclaire wrote:That's what an SVT cab should look like!Randy Bass wrote:Nice gear. That SVT cab has been defiled though. I was fairly impressed with the the sword when I first heard them, but I've now decided that essentially all they really do is emulate COC to a horrible degree.
It really is fairly blatant, IMO. If I wanted to listen to COC I'd listen to COC.

So you're saying that conformity has not sufficiently corroded yet ? Or has the Sword become too Corroded ?starling1 wrote:I was fairly impressed with the the sword when I first heard them, but I've now decided that essentially all they really do is emulate COC to a horrible degree.

Re: the Sword
Sorry, but I see no COC in the Sword.
Re: the Sword
Great band, cool dudes
Re: the Sword
Comparing COC with The Sword???
I don't hear that at all!!!
I love COC and I love The Sword, but I think The Sword is more melodic sounding than COC...
They are a totally different band.

Re: the Sword
I agree. I youtubed COC last night pretty extensively, and I've seen the Sword live a lot. In no way do I see a connection at all. Especially, to the extreme of saying the Sword emulates COC. These bands are totally different. The songwriting, sound, and delivery are completely different. Yeah, they're both heavy bands, but that's it.Dave666 wrote:Comparing COC with The Sword???

Re: the Sword
Our bass player has a classic svt cab and the tolex is coming off all over the place we play probably a tenth of what the sword does so I am going to say that the wear on that cab is legit.
