Between Sound City and Muscle Shoals I think 75% of the music I grew up with was recorded at these two (three actually) places!

Oh, and the Sugar Man movie was really awesome!
I thought Sound City was an amazing movie. I'll have to check out Muscle Shoals.

Also for fans of Dave Grohl/Foo Fighters/Nirvana, check out "Foo Fighters: Back and Forth." Great movie.

I liked soundcity...

But....did it annoy anyone else how it would fade in out out of background music and the volume would spike?
I thought it was distracting.

So far I've watched Muscle Shoals and Fuzz in the last few days based off this thread, both were great! Rising Low is next on my list!

Did anyone catch Bikeage? I'm a huge Descendants fan and missed it when it came through my city.

Not so much a rockumentary as a modern-day folk'ish musical with Glen Hansard. It's quite good...
YES! Great lovely yet low-budget movie!

Yep, I saw it a few years ago. Actually even learnt a few of the songs off the soundtrack on acoustic guitar.

Watched CBGB last night. Amazing how such a s**thole was so famous...and broke. It was a tad before my time, but growing up I had always heard about CBGB's.

An excellent Documentary about Lee Scratch Perry came out a couple years ago. "The Upsetter."

Throw Down Your Heart is an awesome documentary. Not rock, but it follows Bela Fleck bringing the banjo back to its roots in Africa. Amazing music and well put together film. Definitely worth watching.

Sorry to dig up old stuff but...

Just watched "Beware Mr. Baker". Huge fan of Clapton so I thought I'd give it a go on Netflix. Best new one I've seen in a while.
Can I raise a practical question at this point? Are we gonna do "Stonehenge" tomorrow?

Okay, so not a "Rockumentary" but deals with rock music in a way... "20 Feet From Stardom" is a really good doc about background singers (many highlighted in the film sang behind the Stones, Clapton, Bowie etc. ).
