I heard the government waits until the guitars are fully built before they take them

Ah just like they wait for the meth lab to finish fully cooking its batch.

I'd rather have the finished product from the meth lab, the quality control is probably waaay better these days.

I've seen a few Gibsons that were definitely made in a Meth Lab.

I have hot-rodded my Gibson to be a self-sustaining meth lab...

It seems like it's a lot harder to get good wood than it used to be :( .

It's a bummer that Gibson is allegedly doing this - being that I play a Gibson and consider myself to be a socially and environmentally conscious person. Question: My Gibson is a 1996 and I thought I remember hearing that this illegal/endangered wood thing was all within the last decade only, right?

I'd hate to think that the guitar I love and play was made with endangered wood. Really, it makes me still feel shitty playing it now anyways, and in doing so, showing that I must in some way support a company who practices this sort of thing....
Argh! :x

I want to know how wood from Madagascar even makes it all the way to Nashville. They would have to order a significant amount, do they not check what is coming into the country at customs? Good thing Gibson isn't a terrorist organization. Then again, they kind of are....

Nevermind the rainforests, I'm pretty sure my '61 SG has a baby seal flipper for a pickguard. I'm gonna report them.
