I feel sorry for her family, no-one wants to have to go through losing family, but I don't feel sorry for her. She had her chances but kept on going down the same path, it was only going to end one way and that's proven itself true.

Thanks for the picture, Randy. This thread needed some Katy Perry.
Certain musicians need to be good influences. They are figures in the spotlights. Just like actors, or pro athletes. If Justin Bieber was smoking cigarettes in public, don't you think that there would be a spike in the pre-teen smoking population?Bandeapart wrote: Honestly, I don't think musicians need to be roll models, that's why they're musicians. I loved her music, but I wasn't inclined to go out and smoke crack because I was a fan. I don't think anyone is going to run out and do drugs because a musician they liked did them, and if they do, well then they weren't really taught how stupid that was. Is your son not seeing her alive really gonna make him turn out to be any better of a human being? It just seems kind of cold.

The biggest influence in a child's life is there parents. I'll teach my daughter and future kids what's right and wrong and not to follow idols etc. The rest is up to her.
Im no fan of Amy Winehouse but it's always sad to see anyone go like that.
Cheers

I think Picasso is a great artist, but I'm not gonna chop off my ear and give it to my girlfriend. I also think Sylvia Plath is an amazing writer, but I'm not gonna stick my head in an oven. I'm a human being capable of making my own choices, and just cuz I admire someone's art, doesn't mean I'm going to copy their life decisions. I would think most people would have enough of a brain to be the same way as well.Ddjembe Mutombo wrote:Thanks for the picture, Randy. This thread needed some Katy Perry.

Re: RIP Amy Winehouse
She did some okay music, not really my thing but I liked that she brought some soul back into pop-music. After her rise in the pop-charts, singers like Duffy and Adele suddenly had better chances. I like that tune 'Valerie'... However, I could not understand a single thing she sang in that video-link of the topicstarter!
