Fender Pawn Shop Series

These are really awesome. My favorite is the '72. The blend knob for the pickups is an awesome feature. You can get so many different tones out of that guitar simply with the volume knob and the blend knob.

Now to sell some gear so I can get one....

Yeah great vid and a very nice innovation with that blend knob.
Just remember to carry a spare pick for live

Eh. I'd rather go for a guitar from the regular line. It looks like a cheap way to make a guitar and give it a higher price tag, IMO.
Lost in the spacey reverb of the Rockerverb.......SOMEBODY GET ME OUTTA HERE!!

I know a lot of other people on the board have really liked the looks of these, but I have to say, I think they are hideous.

What I think too. They look exactly how they suppose to. Like cheap fake ass pawn shop replica guitars, wich is not a good thing.Gtr_Pkr wrote:Eh. I'd rather go for a guitar from the regular line. It looks like a cheap way to make a guitar and give it a higher price tag, IMO.

Yup, as much as I want to like them, I can't. I think they're ugly as ugly gets for a guitar. Opinion alert!nguideau wrote:I know a lot of other people on the board have really liked the looks of these, but I have to say, I think they are hideous.

The mustangs seem cool. The switches are coil taps, I think. I like the blue one. The others are super ugly.

the switches are coil taps. i played one a few weeks ago, and was actually really impressed. it felt too small for me to straight up buy it, but i sure wouldn't mind having one.

Re: Fender Pawn Shop Series
I think the look of that '51 is quite purdy minus the switch plate having that angle on it. There had to be a way around that design. The thing I like about Fender though is that they are trying to at least create new classics instead of hideous modern BS like Gibson with the holy explorer, robot BS, etc.

Re: Fender Pawn Shop Series
That control plate is from the '51 Precision Bass, as is the pickguard shape. They couldn't very well put a normal Tele plate on it with that pickguard shape - it would be blasphemy! Nevermind that the blasphemous humbucker didn't even exist in 1951. I kinda wish it just had one single-coil like the P-Bass for appearance purposes, but I guess it is more of a "Vintage Modified" concept. I think my Squier '51 was from the Vintage Modified line now that I think about it . The Fender better be a great guitar to justify six times the price the Squiers were.Bandeapart wrote:I think the look of that '51 is quite purdy minus the switch plate having that angle on it. Looks like someone from Gibson has been over at Fender helping them out with crap ideas for new models.

I like the 72. I hate the way the 51 looks and would never even consider buying it. The few times I've been at GC I haven't even wanted to pick it up to try it.
I tried the mustang. It plays pretty smooth and such, but I hate the mustang short scale neck. The 72 however, is fantastic.
