Yaphet Kotto
my old band did some dates with yaphet kotto. good times! and if you like drive like jehu, check out hot snakes. basically the same dudes but in a more straight up rock and roll outfit that still rules.
Yeah, I've heard of Hot Snakes, never gave them a listen though... I'll have to check 'em out then. Thanks!

Yeah, Hot Snakes are awesome! One of my favorite bands ever!

I would love to hear some recommendations for someone that loves bands like; Fugazi, The Jesus Lizard, Hot Snakes, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Mission of Burma, Deerhoof, The Smiths, Motorpsycho...

I'm quite young, so some 'classics' are welcome too.

Check out The Computers. They just recorded their debut album with John Reis (Drive Like Jehu, Hot Snakes, Rocket from the Crypt).

LOVE this band. My band got offered support for them on their upcoming tour and had to turn it down; I was absolutely gutted

Dude, check out Twelve Hour Turn. Very good 90s screamo from Gainesville, Fla. Also, there's a French punk band called 12XU who are great. And some of the guys from that band have another band called Daitro - effing great! If you like Fugazi, you may like the above the mentioned...I know the people in the bands I mentioned were Fugazi influenced.
