orange th30 has less mids than the rest of the product line?

Post by Wolfe » Tue Jun 14, 2011 5:01 pm

after playing on a rockerverb 50 I can't help thinking that the th30 has got less mids than it, It just seems to have alot more boomy bass that the rockerverb so I am not going to get a gt-od because it doesn't cut much bass and add as much mid range so will not make much difference at all, I'm going to get an od808.

Can I be the first to mention a 'mid hump'?

I used to like the high hump when I was younger. Now it's too weird.

I was more thinking about a "state of mind".

I find a small step ladder is good in these situations.

I've owned both. I don't think it's a case of having less mids, more of the fact that the entire EQ is set-up differently. With no Treble, Bass and Mid knobs to adjust your stuck with just the shape knob which adds or cuts the mids. Rockerverb has a fully adjustable EQ. You'll understand more if you compare a Rockerverb EQ, a TH30 EQ and a Tiny Terror EQ at the same time. They're all Orange flavoured and probably have a similar balanced EQ setting to one another somewhere on their dials. Mid-hump.

It's probably due to a lack of iron.

Fixed.

I'll probably go buy a Tube Screamer now that I fixed your quote. That is, unless someone recommends one, in which case I'll say that I'm buying something else entirely to throw everyone off the scent. I actually have bought seven already though. I won't buy an EQ pedal because none of them come in lime green.

I think you should try a Mid boost like a Bad Monkey pedal by Digitech. They aren't very popular but I am sure you can find one somewhere near you.
