Not too sure, but don't think they're the same.
The TH30 is meant to have the RV50/100 clean channel. It certainly sounds lovely, but breaks up in a hurry. If you play non P90 single coils, it may yet stay clean reasonnably late.
Either way, that cleam channel is really nice and had me chuckling to myself when trying it. It's that good, though fairly slightly dirty!

No. Different preamp sections.dmraco wrote:Is the TH30 simply a dual terror with an effects loop?

Very different, now the new dark terror might be similar, minus a clean channel

hate to sound like a postmodernist prick, but clean is relative the clean channels on all oranges are clean, by orange's standards. now, that standard's a lot different from fender's standard of clean. if your goal is to find fender cleans on an orange amp, you're going to be pretty disappointed no matter what amp you try...Is the CLEAN channel really clean???

Re: Is the TH30 simply a dual terror with an effects loop?
they are pretty different. I was able to a/b them and found the th30 to sound more modern, and the dt a little more vintage. The th30 seemed to have much more low end and sounded beefier overall. I went with the th30 because it works better with what I need in my band, but in another world I could have gone the other way.
The clean is pretty decent, but does break up early. I have found that I rarely need it to be that clean, I like a little edge to it. But I think it gets cleaner at volume than the dt.

That is exactly why, I own a fender amp, and I think everyone that can afford to have a second amp, should at least try one if not own one. There is nothing like the fender clean, and I love orange amps but the clean is not the same, which is also a good thing depending on your needs.

agreed. in fact, i see a second amp very soon in my future. the question is, twin reverb or AC30?Ohara wrote:jason41224 wrote:hate to sound like a postmodernist prick, but clean is relative the clean channels on all oranges are clean, by orange's standards. now, that standard's a lot different from fender's standard of clean. if your goal is to find fender cleans on an orange amp, you're going to be pretty disappointed no matter what amp you try...Is the CLEAN channel really clean???

If you go Fender skip the Twin and get a Super or a Pro Reverb. They sound better. At least try one before you decide.jason41224 wrote: agreed. in fact, i see a second amp very soon in my future. the question is, twin reverb or AC30?

Why get a new bandmaster when you can get a silverface for like $350?Captain Wedge wrote:What about those new bandmasters? I've seen alot of adds about them.

Not everyone has high enough ceilings for a Silverface Bandmaster Head .indianDYsummer wrote:Why get a new bandmaster when you can get a silverface for like $350?Captain Wedge wrote:What about those new bandmasters? I've seen alot of adds about them.
