They are for daisy chaining two cabs together.
Re: 2 inputs on orange 2x12?
so I can plug my one head/combo into either one?

Yeah. Both inputs are 16ohm. If you daisy chained another PPC212 to the first cab you'd plug into the 8ohm input on your amp.

If the second cab was another ppc 2x12, could you daisy chain it to the first, then daisy chain another cab to that? That would make 4 Ohms, right?
1st 2x12-----2nd 2x12-------3rd 2x12= 4ohms

I come up with 85.33 ohms - not sure about my math though . In any case, most Oranges require at least an 8-ohm load, so keep it to two cabs max if they are 16 ohms each. Most importantly, never use both inputs on your cab at the same time with two different amps as it would connect them together electrically and cause destruction.Captain Wedge wrote:If the second cab was another ppc 2x12, could you daisy chain it to the first, then daisy chain another cab to that? 5.33 ohms. I'm not sure about your typing Randy!Randy Bass wrote:I come up with 85.33 ohms - not sure about my math though . You could run a 5.33 ohm load from the amps 8 ohm output safely enough. (Moderate low direction mismatch which will put a shade more wear on the power valves but be safe enough. See here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=44461&p=539148&hili ... ch#p539148" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
But why would you want to. The extra sound from the 3rd cab will be counteracted by the power loss / tonal change from the mismatch.

You'll need 4 cabs of 16ohms to get a load of 4 ohms.
But if you run 4 cabs, you can run 2 heads through 2 cabs each, that would be much better.

I've considered running my sovtek mig 50 with my 2 ppc112s and my 8 ohm avatar 2x12 through the 4 ohm tap, but i haven't because what's the point when I can play my Oranges through any of them.Dave666 wrote:You'll need 4 cabs of 16ohms to get a load of 4 ohms.

if you need three 2x12's....you're better off with two 4x12's......just sayin
