hi guys

just wondering what guitars you guys are using with your orange amps and what you all think the killer orange/guitar combination would be. i play a strat and a maton ms500. my orange ad30r brings out the spankiness of the strat and the fatness of the maton. i'll be keen to hear what you are all using and if there's any feeling about what guitars really shine through our beloved oranges.

a lot o people play gibson sg's through oranges with great success.

i play a fender jaguar set up with 2 humbuckers (seymour duncan: '59 at the neck, screamin demon at the bridge) and a gibson nashville bridge. i had a pickguard cut for it so that i could adjust the pickups with screws going through the pickguard (like an sg or big apple strat) as opposed to just screwing the pickups straight into the wood.

anyway, it sounds great....to me.

Main guitars: various years ('73-'90) Fender Esquires/ Telecasters all with Lindy Fralin rewound bridge pickups and PAF-style Duncans in the neck; Gibson SG Jr '68; Les Paul Jr '90; various years ('59-'90) Fender Stratocasters; occasional other guitars: '62 Dano, '83 Robin Ranger, '65 Fender Electric XII, Regal Dobro with attached Barcus Berry humbucker, '57 Fender Musicmaster (w/tele bridge pickup and JB Jr neck pickup), even a '60 Fender Electric Mandolin, that's about it...

They all sound good through the Oranges. Billy

I play my Orange AD30 with a tele and a love this combination. Funky yet very warm.
I only wish I had as many guitars as Billy, so I could try out more, haha...

I use a '91 Fender Telecaster(USA) with my Orange halfstack. Everything is standard(pickups) and I have the switch in the middle position. Sometimes I use the neck pickup(lipstick) to pull off fat toney leads. I wish I had a Jaguar.........

I use a brand new custom Warrior Isabella and a '92 Gib LP studio lite. Both are great through my AD140TC.

I play an American Standard Tele through my Ad30htc and 2x12 cab.
I love this combination, it's just so honest.

hello,
I play a Les paul Classic Premium + through a OR 120 (serial number 789 ) and a 4 x 12 cab (celestion vintage 30). My second guitar is a 98 Gibson Explorer Limited edition. My LP has a bridge pickup pearly gates from Seymour duncan. I play all that through an Expandora II From Bixonic.... it rocks

i have an ad30tc combo and i play a 60's telecaster, 72 custom telecaster, 69 thinline tele (not the humbucker version), and an epiphone sheraton with gibson 57 classics. it sounds good with the teles (especially the thinline) and really great with the sheraton. oranges (in my opinion) bring out the tone of guitars more than other amps ive played. so if you've got a favorite guitar, this amp will best bring out its sound.

i am thinking of getting another guitar. my strat is my main weapon but when i break a string playing live i have to use the maton ms500 (which i'm not really enjoying). i don't know whether i should get another strat as a back up so i can stick with my familar sound and feel or whether i should get something else so i can get some more sounds. hmmmm. any thoughts?

Prehaps you could try a gordon smith, I have one, it's amazing. Hand made in the uk and great prices aswell. They can build you a custom guitar for around £600. They do strat models but their humbucker guitars are where it's at. They all feature coil tapped humbuckers as standard so you probably would never have to stray too far from the original strat sound. Check out some reveiws on harmony central.
(I own a heavily customised graduate 60 btw).

Gibson Firebird V, definitely!
but my Fender Tele 62 reissue and my old Cimax SG copy in open E for slide are working great too!

I've gotten the best tones in all my years of
recording with an OR 120 and '74 Les Paul Custom,
nice and direct for clean and with a Boss DS-1
for dirt. Live I have the best results with an '81
Les Paul Goldtop and Epiphone Casino reissue. I've
just started bringing out my old Strat and it
sounds killer too. This amp can handle anything!

i have just bought a an AD30TC and play a Fender Jazzmaster '62 reissue and far as i have fiddled it sounds sweet....the clean tone is just the best and i like it pretty trebly....i recently put my russian big muff pedal in the shop to get a true bypass switch put in cos it was muting my top end a bit when it was not turned on, just sitting in between the guitar and amp....has anyone else had this problem? just wondering.... what have others done to fix it?
i also put my maton acoustic through it today for a laugh and it sounded cool as well.
