drive like jehu. shared a songwriter with rocket from the crypt, but they were much weirder and heavier than rftc. after jehu, john reis and rick froberg formed the hot snakes and mark trombino (drummer) became a highly in demand record producer. froberg also kept busy with his graphic design work, reis kept with rftc until their breakup on halloween 2005 and is currently in the night marchers with ruby mars, who also drums for earthless and played in rftc and hot snakes. rick is currently in the obits, who are supposed to be the best tribal tom tom stompout garage rock around.

I remember that my band Cult of the Rocket got billed once as Rocket from the Crypt. Which is why I found it amusing that you likened our singers voice to Drive Like Jehu

mudhoney stopped their show halfway through after a bouncer thug stomped a crowd member - - they refused to keep playing until the BOUNCER was evicted from the venue

I saw Mudhoney on that tour, though not at that show.
It was weird watching the band I would become (albiet for one night only) in the future all wearing matching shirts. It was kind of like the scene in Back To The Future II when Marty is watching himself playing Chuck Berry on stage while he is also in the audience.

I never "got" them. I guess I don't like "mathcore" like shi ite. I dunno, I'll give em' some more listens. Maybe they'll begin to grow on me.

Drive Like Jehu was awesome. I think that's all that needs to be said in this thread.
Re: OT: this is what a great live band should sound like.
I'm sure I'm going to offend somebody, but that's what I would use as an example of what no band should sound like live.

Yank Crime is definitely one of my top five albums (not including the Beatles because that's just not fair).

What would make me want this album? Please let me know as I have some money to spend on music right now.nguideau wrote:Just now seeing this thread!chinese fork tie wrote:i'm surprised nathan or bayta haven't commented on this yet.

Like I said, one of their albums would be in my top five, but you aren't offending me. Different strokes... and to be honest, I never saw this band live, and the video didn't particularly move me.Wendigo wrote:I'm sure I'm going to offend somebody, but that's what I would use as an example of what no band should sound like live.
