Anyone have a blue book of guitars subscription?

That wouldn't mind looking up some info for me? I have a 1992 Gibson Les Paul Custom in Ebony. However it does not have the traditional block inlay, it has the inlay pattern of the gibson LP supreme series. It is in very good condition, slight playing wear. I am trying to figure out the value of it, and am not sure.

Thanks

Or could anyone give me some more info about this guitar? I have had it probably 5-6 years now. I have always been intrigued about the inlay pattern on it.

Its been a long time, hope everyone is doing well!

Clearly a Custom Shop, you can email Gibson the serial and they will be able to tell you some info about i- but it looks to me like a personal custom that has been made to spec for a player with a little $$$ the headstock inlay doesnt look to me like standard USA customs of that time period. You could be sitting on some $$$ but hardware-wise it looks like a stock Custom.

There's a "public service" thread on TGP that you can get info from.

thanks! and now that I am looking at it, I think it is a 91. But I doubt that that would make a huge difference. Do the people on tgp actually give you estimates?

Not really. It's a nice guy who has the book with values for instruments. You post...he looks it up and answers.

Here's the response I got:

"Les Paul Custom from 1992 runs approx $1,900 - $2,400"

I found that it apparently has "Super 400" inlays and is one of 500 made in Ebony (500 were also made in Antique White) by the Gibson Custom Shop. I have seen it called a Les Paul Custom/400 a couple of times. I figure it should easily be worth somewhere north of $2,000, maybe closer to $3,000. There certainly aren't many for sale at any given time.

Lemme ask the guy about Custom/400 and tell him '91 is possibility as well. Will report back.

It's worth what someone will pay for it especially when it's rare. Blue Book isn't really a viable source since the internet was invented IMO. If you priced it at $2500 I think that would be reasonable.

Bayta is right. If you get lucky and find someone who really "has to have" those inlays, you could be on the higher end. If not, you could be closer to 2K or so.

Here's what the the guy said to my second question:

There's a possibility that it's a '91 also sometimes referred to as Custom/400 as the "Supreme" inlays are called Super 400 inlays I believe. This one is supposed to be a special run of 500 in Ebony and 500 in white. The one in question is Ebony.

Does that Help Jeff?"

nope. sounds nice, but I can't find a listing for this specific model. anyone else point me in the right direction?
