You're right man!
The ONLY way to use a very loud amp is to use it with a more quiet guitar like a telecaster.
As soon as i plug a HB guitar in my matamp or twin it get's very loud...

Good to know that i'm in the same club as you. I really think that AC30HW is great....
And trem pedals are really great to.. I also have a malekko spring chicken! So i have both rev&trem if i need it.

If you need that, there are so many wonderful pedals. I have a tremolo pedal that
sounds better as the trem of my twin. No joke. Okay amp reverb is the best on the fender amps
but i didn't like the vox reverb as much.

What you get is a more PURE singnal path and more tone because of that.
I think about buying one.
Yeah man, Vox reverb sucks so you aren't missing anything. The reverb on my AC15 sounds like garbage. I think because it's not tube driven like Fender or old Ampeg reverb. I think I need to change the tank to an accutronics too. The reverb on my Pro Reverb was amazing. Miss it sometimes, but not how freaking loud that amp was.
Well if the AC15 reverb is anything like the AC30CC that I have then I wouldn't say it's garbage, but it sure isn't the greatest thing ever. I have read about mods to make it sound a lot better which are mostly cheap changes besides the accutronics tank. I think maybe somewhere in the future I'll do that. It's just that super long tail...

The tail is long and there is just something about it that sounds cheap. It also sits funny in it's mix with the signal. It's somehow really far in the background or something. It has nothing on Fender reverb. Not even close. Doesn't matter to me much though because I basically quit using reverb all together. I use delay/chorus on my Memory Boy set almost like an ambient slapback now. It's a little more personalized sound for me than the typical reverb.

Maybe so, I've never tried Vox reverb. But the vib/ trem on old 3 channel Voxes sounds sublime!

The Vib / Trem channel circuitry was pretty complex - virtually the majority of the amps circuitry / components, and using a full 2 1/2 preamp valves. This is why they don't tend to replicate this channel on modern amps - it would jack the costs right up! Really a pity though as it is a great sounding channel even without any vib or trem effect switched on...

I was always disapointed with the new trem channels or lack there of. The EF86 they had on the Heritage was cool, Especially with the channels mixed. But still no where near as good as my old one.

The tube driven trem on my Pro Reverb ate the Vox trem in my modern AC15c1 for breakfast. The tone of the AC15c1 is awesome though. I didn't buy it for the reverb and trem. They are usable but nothing to write home about.

Don't say this, it just turns the GAS up higher

Just got the news that redundacies may be occuring at my work in the next few months so this really places a stress on random amp buying.

I wanna Vox

Well i found a pretty good deal. Kinda in the pricerange of the C2, but about 150-200$ more (I'm from europe i payed 1000€, the original price is about 1600€)

It's new and unused. His band won the amp in a competition and he doesn't wanna change his setup.
Guess he' a Fender guy all the way... To be honest i never found such a good deal.

So, i'm lucky and it seems to be my destiny :D
The don't find the amp, the amp finds you! 8)

Best price I can find here is $1,800 (1,300 Euro) for a new one.

See what happens with the job, I guess.

Haha thanks!
You just need a GT1 and we have the same amps

By the way i will NEVER EVER SELL my GT1.
I swear it. It's the sexiest and best amp that i own. It's a masterpiece.

I recently had the chance to play an OR120 and the GT1 eats it, sorry Orange.
While i love the Orange Rocker30 tone, it's doesn't have the same
inspriring thing going on... the AC30 has that too. There's something about those amps.
The response to your playing is so unique and inspiring, you plug in and can't stop to play.
Hard to describe but i guess you know what i mean.

The GT1 has everything. Great cleans (as good a fender cleans but in a league of their own), great overdrive, great crunch and if you crank em you're in the stoner department. And all tones are great. There is nothing bad about it.
Everytime i play it i'm in love again haha!

Guess the AC30 and the GT1 are my favorites so far...

I have been on the seemingly never ending search for a new live amp. The TT is just not doing it anymore.

It is now down to three!

AC30HW with Greenbacks. $1500
DrZ maz 38 with v30 and H30 $1900
Marshall Bluesbreaker British Greenbacks. $2100

So torn they al have there upsides and downsides.

The Maz Cranked up has an attack like no other amp I have ever played. Its like a JTM and an AC30 together.
heavy!!!! Kind of has one good tone. But damn!

Bluesbreaker has the richest sound of the three. Layers and Layers of tone. Best trem in the world!
Huge! Will need to grow the pedal board to get the different drive tones though.

AC30HW ACDC?.. yep. Minor Threat?...yep. Country Clean?..yep its all there. Good size to move around. 30 or 15 watts
Worst speakers of the bunch. To many things to fiddle with. I will destroy the blonde in about 2 months?

ARGH!!!!

Orange Give me a DT Combo please!!!
