new tubes

Post by mojo » Sat Mar 05, 2011 5:21 pm

Hi, I have a TTHW and want to retube with JJ's in the ower section. Is there a difference buying a set from Eurotube as opposed to just going to my local music store? I've read that if you give 'Bob' at Eurotubes a good description of what you want he will set you up with a matched set tailored to your needs.
If I get two at my local store the guy will just grab two EL84's from a bin behind the counter basically. So, are all JJ EL84's the same, or not?

Sorry, my 'p' on my keyboard sometimes doesn't work. That was "power section" in the last post.

Hey there. I bought directly from Eurotubes. Actually right from the location since I lived so close. Anyway, I would recommend buying from "Bob" and trusting his expertise. JJ tubes are great as I have had them in my RV50C for over a year now. Albeit tubes aren't always consistent and might fail after a short time. That's a given. Good luck on your hunt for good tubes.
