Hi. I play a 69 RI Thinline Tele through a Fender twin-amp (The 2-channel twin, with a gain channel)
I have been thinking about putting a bucker in the neck for beefier parts of our songs - we play a kind of pop/punk/rock that sounds like this: http://apologiesihavenone.bandcamp.com/album/7-2010" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I think I want something beefier for the chorus's and lead parts we are doing and the bridge is great for that cutting sound that I use for octaves and the parts where i need to pop-out of the mix, but I don't have a really good rhythm tone - the middle position sounds great, but since our other guitarist put a bucker in the bridge of his strat, it just sounds so full and heavy - something my set up seems to lack a bit.
My guitar isn't routed for a bucker, but I have heard that mini buckers might fit.
Any suggestions gratefully received!

Before you go routing out the guitar and such, look at putting in a Hot Rails, or something with a little more power. Seymour Duncan has options for humbuckers in a single coil format.
Lost in the spacey reverb of the Rockerverb.......SOMEBODY GET ME OUTTA HERE!!

Forget a humbucker, you want a P-90 sound in your Tele :

Re: Telecaster Neck Humbucker
i know nathan has a tele with a neck pickup, might want to ask him how it sounds.
Re: Telecaster Neck Humbucker
I sure do.
I don't think the mini-humbucker is what you're looking for.
I'd actually guess that Randy's suggestion of the standard Tele-sized P90 might be a little hotter and more aggressive.
I have the '52 Hot Rod Tele which has a Duncan minibucker. I like the sound a lot, but as I have explained in other threads, while it is good in this guitar, it's not something I'd ever put in another guitar as a main pickup. It sounds best when used for a more rounded clean tone, where the bridge single-coil does the higher cleans and noisy breakup tones well.

Re: Telecaster Neck Humbucker
Eh. I put full size humbuckers in three of my Esquires and one of my Teles and I never looked back. Awesome sound. If you want a humbucker, put in a humbucker!
