Rockverb 100 MKII + Pedals

Post by dbsens03 » Mon Feb 21, 2011 8:12 pm

I'm thinking about adding an eq, noise gate, and OD pedal to my amp. Also, what do ya'll like better, through the fx loop or up front for the eq and noise gate? Thanks!

EQ in the loop, OD in front. Noise Gate can go wherever really, depending on different setups. Make sure you mess around with your OD settings. Sometimes they can take away from the overall "Orangeness".

ok, rad. thanks! Ya, with respect to the OD, I don't want to take away from the "orange tone" I just like to be able to have the option of clean-crunch-high gain. Know what I mean. I love the crunch the Orange has, AND I love the high gain it has. Wish it were 3 channels. Thanks again!

With mine, RCKVB 100, I use to put chorus, delay, vol, shifter, in the loop
and O.D. ( K.O.T., TS 808, Fulldrive ) in front...these ones working
with the clean channel
.That makes : 1° : Clean CH. 2° O.D. /clean 3° Dirty CH........Heaven
not running if you don't know where you're going....

Yeah, a lot of people here seem to have success running the dirty channel at whatever high gain level they need, and then use the clean channel for cleans. For their light dirt/OD sounds they push the clean channel with a clean boost or overdrive pedal of their choice. There's your 3 channels.

You can try setting up the dirty channel to be medium/light OD and push it with a clean boost. The general consensus on the forum seems to be that clean boosts work better with Orange's natural OD than an OD pedal trying to color the tone.
