Rocker 30: great price?

Post by Dave666 » Sat Feb 19, 2011 10:27 am

Hi all you R30 users..

There's a R30Combo for sale here, 6months old, for 600euros
The guy asked 800 first but can't get rid of it for some reason, there's not a lot amps selling around here.
Just a question: Can you connect a external speakercab on this Combo?
I own a Orange 412, which I think will make the R30 crush.
I'm going to use the amp for jams (that's the privilege of a combo, easy transporting), and I play dirty rock 'n roll and 80's metal (classic metal as some people say) If I need extra gain or more tightness, I can put a Maxon OD808 in front

First: let me know if this is the amp for me, and if it's a good deal.

Thx in advance
Cheers
Dave

Are the amps in the combos exactly the same as the Head versions, technical aspect wise?????????

I know Marshall JCM2000's are not the same, I wonder if Orange makes the same mistakes...

yep - i just sold my r30 combo and ppc112 - mini stack... the ppc112 made the combo MUCH better - - fuller sound, better bottom end

i got about 1600 for both + cover and footswitch...

they are great amps, but the natural 'clean' channel wasn't loud enough for me and the dirty channel was way too modern and fizzy... i could get it sounding great but the pedals were doing most of the work -

The Rocker combo is easy to use with a cab so no worries and at 600 Euros probably an OK price if not particularly cheap. Amp is great for classic Rock.

That's a great price, considering it's brand new!
