I have a Gibson one since it came with my guitar, but SKB are decent. Epiphones are good for the price and will add extra insurance that no one steals your Gibson!

Hiscox Cases. No contest!!!

I have several of them and you can (literally!) jump up and down on them. They are light, very strong, and not nearly as expensive as you'd expect (at least this side of the pond!)
With LPs though you still need to make sure that there is no movement in the case, so pad as needed to stabilise the guitar. Also if having the guitar shipped you do want to lower the string tension at least some. People are reluctant to do this thinking the guitars action will need reset. Not so! Guitar necks (as opposed to the headstock joints on Gibsons) are very resiliant indeed!

Anyway, check out the Hiscox cases. The original 'Liteflite' cases are still better than anything else I know of, though I see they now do two heavier duty types. Even the original series offer superb protection though so the heavier ones may well be a bit OTT.

Haha, I had a laugh at 7:52 am, helped me wake up for a big quiz in class in about an hour, so it's help, just nothing to do with cases.

Have an SKB case for my P-deluxe bass. Great case, but still has that organic chemistry lab smell to it.
Re: What's your favorite Les Paul case?
Seems a lot of the cases I've used have that smell. You'd think they'd figure out how to let them cure a bit before boxing them up...Borderline Productions wrote:Have an SKB case for my P-deluxe bass. Great case, but still has that organic chemistry lab smell to it.
