oh god, is this the band with that michael angelo batio guy? dude is the biggest wanker i've ever seen. anyone who is fascinated by him being able to play 4 guitars at once is an idiot. seriously, it's the musical equivalent of shaking a keyring in front of a baby to stop them crying.

Kip Winger's Farah Faucet hair may have been the point where 80's metal jumped the shark. I hope it never ever comes back.
Reb Beach was pretty rad. For a girl.

van cleef this is too weird. i was just going to name these same two candidates. no schiate.

its hard to argue with success but i always thought u2 was an overrated weak sister.

there are many more bands from the plastic 80's days that could fit into this catagory. i'll have a few sips from my jug and think of some.

[edit: actually i meant i was going to name u2; i don't know the other band - who is it?]

too weird.

Sorry guys, I am not sure if they will qualify but I do feel they are about the lamest band ever, as they do sing and perform on stage. But my vote goes to

THE WIGGLES

yes that australian group that dress like rejects from the Star Trek series.

I'd like to nominate Nickelback to the list and vote to veto U2 off the list. Regardless of your musical tastes no band that made albums as original as War and The Joshua Tree deserve to be on any lame band list.

i have to disagree j-rog, about u2.

of course this is all in fun as these threads are entertaining, so no offense to you at all, as this is all subjective.

i could never figure out why these guys were so popular. i was there when they started on mtv with "new years day". i found the vocals not great, the guitar awful, bass and drums, passable. the song writing didn't make up for it for me, but hey, that's me.

i did, however, like the tune bono wrote and performed with bb king.

but, like the tag on the subject line, i always thought them weak and lame.

cheers [despite the difference in opinions]
