pretty weak headliners, but some good stuff mixed in. dfa79! pj harvey! lightning bolt! wire! big audio dynamite! keith morris' new band with the drummer from rftc/earthless! also broken social scene, HEALTH, lauryn hill, cee lo green and fun.

like any coachella lineup, it's a bunch of crap with some good stuff mixed in. i would say it's a weak set of headliners, but last year wasn't much better for top billed bands.

I'd go for Arcade Fire and The National. The rest would be nice stuff to learn about.

well i'll probably see you there. i was speaking more for the top billed stuff. seeing kanye or the arcade fire just does nothing for me. there's some great stuff lower on the bill, though.

my friend is playing there, i'm not best friends with the guy or anything, but skrillex is his DJ name, he used to sing in From First to Last, now he's doing electro/dub step, whatever you want to call it, he's REALLLLYYYY good at it

There are some bands I'd like to see but I'll wait until they come here for tour. Festivals don't really work for me. I can't watch music for that long. I didn't even go to Pitchfork last summer and it's about four miles from my house. I did go the year before to see Jesus Lizard though. That was freaking amazing.

david yow performing live should be pilgrimage worthy for just about everyone. i couldn't go though. no money.

Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears, and Elbow.

i think im gonna go but not because of the headliners, or any one or two undercards but because there are about 30 bands that i won't go pay 30 bucks to see on their own. but because its a festival and a huge party, i will probably go and maybe come back as a fan of some new bands

for example: kings of leon. i'm not going to pay 80 bucks to see them do the 3 songs of theirs that i dig.

but am i happy to see them do a festival set, sure. same for arcade fire, and oddly for kanye and the strokes.

He's insane. Truly insane man. They did two nights at The Metro a little after they played Pitchfork. Yow broke his arm or something the first night stage diving and actually came back the next night and stage dived AGAIN with a broken arm. It's almost scary watching them play live. Now I know what an early Iggy show might have been kind of like.
