It says it's made with pure gold! haha. I have to wonder - I know that a good cable can make a difference, as well as a bad cable can. But there has to be a point where it just doesn't matter that much anymore, I would think anyways. Maybe a little bit - but certainly not $6000 of a difference!

The sad thing is, I bet there's at least 1 audiophile out there who's bought one.. some people have more dollars than sense

It's known as the law of diminishing returns. There may be some positive difference as go up in grade of cable but you reach a point where to get to that next level the cost skyrockets upward, for what may only be a small difference in sound. Something tells me that after the cab is mic'd, with the cable of a mere mortal, and pumped through some two-way PA cabs in a noisy bar, you won't be able to hear whatever difference you may have acquired.
mmmmmm drop

Are you guy's serious? You don't have this? It's essential guys.
Seriously, I am not expert, but I thought I read somewhere that silver is the best conductor and gold isn't even as good as copper. I guess impedance and signal isolation/noice reduction etc are different than conductance.
Either way, anyone who buys this is a big effing dope. Rich or not.

You guys kill me. You shouldn't knock something before you've tried it. I actually bought one of these last year, and it has been a huge upgrade in my tone. Yeah, it is very expensive. But, if you're a serious enough musician, then it is definitely worth it. You pay a lot for your amp, so don't expect a cheap guitar center cable to do it justice. Just my 2 cents.

I'm just saying... I'm not spending three times what I spent on my amp for ONE TEN FOOT cable... Where for another 600 bucks... you can get an additional foot. Considering I like my 21 foot Mogami Cables... that means I'd have to pay 12,600 bucks for a 21 foot cable. But for that money, you know I'll sound better than everyone else. Right?

i use these as bungee cords to hold down the gold block on top of my car, which is also gold, I give the 9 out of 10, the gold could be more "gold" imo. Also solid cables for a starter!

Yup. Silver is a much better conductor, and copper is a great conductor too. Gold is used on plugs and such simply because it's very resistant to corrosion and gunk. If this cable is as well jacketed as they brag about, then you shouldn't be worrying about corrosion inside the jacketed part anyhow.brianr0131 wrote:Are you guy's serious? You don't have this? Re: $6000 for a guitar cable!!!
One day... after I make my first billion dollars... I'm going to create the greatest and most expensive studio on the planet. Rebuilding all the greatest amps, and recording interfaces, using only analogue & valve technology (with gold and silver cables ), and treat it with the worlds top quality acoustic materials...
Then I'm going to buy the cheapest audio interface, slowest computer, smallest wattage amplifier and half a "franken"guitar, and download a bunch of pirated software...
Then using a little ingenuity, patience and know how... use both mediums to produce identical sounding records!
