IIRC 0U818 is in the market for one down the road. I thought he posted that somewhere.

Re: Ever heard of Lemon amps?
They're made by Tym, an awesome guitar and amp tech/builder in Brisbane, Aus. I believe he has made them to be as close to a vintage Orange circuit as possible, even having his own transformer unwound and recreated to as close to the original as possible.

I was tempted.to not replace my stolen RV50 with the same amp and grab the Sournote 120 instead but decided that I would miss the RV too much. Maybe someday in the future.

Re: Ever heard of Lemon amps?
I got one, but it was busted so I sent it in for repairs. Got it back and it still didn't work, so I took it to another tech who 'fixed' it and sent it back...guess what? STILL didn't work. Sent it back to the guy who made it and he said he took care of it, but it was still not working properly. Other people have loved theirs, but I guess mine was just rotten.
see what I did there? lemon? hahahahahahha...okay I'm leaving now.

Re: Ever heard of Lemon amps?
Yeah, no offense to anyone. They may sound awesome, but I'm with Billy. No way could I play with that behind me. It is just to satirical of the orange line imo. It just doesn't look serious. Although, the Orange is really no different. I mean it's a bright Orange amp named Orange. I see the other side.....a purple one "sour grape", a green one, "lime", so on and so on. The Orange still speaks of instant classic to me, while the Lemon does not.
I do not think of fruits when I see an Orange amp, unless it's an orange amp in Adam Lambert's backline....

I think it looks like a cheap, knock-off experiment. The graphics look like they were created by one of my lower school art students. Dunno... there are plenty of good Oranges available that will do what that says it does.Nork wrote:@ billy? eh? just hate on for a clone, or have you played one? (not dissing...just interested...)

All Tym needs to do now is make a tiny terry knock off and call it the Tiny Tym. Or perhaps The Tymmy Terror.

Re: Ever heard of Lemon amps?
Orange just needs to get off it arse and built a new OR 80 and 120 FAC based amp !!!!
Re: Ever heard of Lemon amps?
Having never played one, it is hard to make a comment on the actual sound and quality of the amp in question. But......just going by the name, and the image associated with it, I would shy away from purhcasing one. This is directly related to the use of the name being associated with a P. O. S. or a piece of junk product.
