Your favorite reverbs?
Hello everyone, I'm thinking about buying a reverb pedal to add to my rig, and I was wondering what everyone liked. I want it to be able to cover ambient sounds well, and also even do lead line reverb well if possible. Thanks for the input guys

my vote goes to 'buy a long srpingtank.' you can thank me later.

Buy an Epi Valve Junior head and perform the reverb tank mod. I plan on doing it and using it with my R30. May not be totally practical but I just love tinkering with things

I have a Lee Jackson Mr Springgy - it's great. Only one knob and one switch so it's very simple to use and it's you can even adjust it whilst playing once you get used to changing the reverb level with your foot

Re: Your favorite reverbs?
Probably not very helpful, but the rockerverb mk I is the best i ever heard.
So i guess i'd be in the spring reverb camp.

Re: Your favorite reverbs?
Well there is so many good ones out there, but IMHO nothing beats an old tube stand-alone Reverb Unit like a classic Fender or Premier, even an old Airline. Then again there is some nice units being made by Dr Z, Victoria now and days. Many great digital ones out there and allow allot more variety but nothing beats the sound of a real spring or plate pushed through tubes.
Not a big Digital fan but a nice one that I have used that is simple and does the job and does it well is the EH Holy Grail.

Doesn't the Valve Junior Hot Rod work as a reverb tank, or is it not so good?OU818 wrote:Buy an Epi Valve Junior head and perform the reverb tank mod. I plan on doing it and using it with my R30. May not be totally practical but I just love tinkering with things

if you end up going the pedal route, try and dig up a Malekko Spring Chicken. those things were the shizz. too bad they were discontinued.

Re: Your favorite reverbs?
Get the Boss FRV1, if classic Fender reverb is your thing.
That pedal is simply awesome. Mimics the classic fender '63 stand alone tube reverb unit in a very impressive way and all that in a compact single unit pedal.
Grtz, Bert.

Re: Your favorite reverbs?
Delay and reverbwise Line 6 is hard to beat imo. A lot of options in a single unit and sounds good too.
Especially if you want to do ambient. You can go Straymon (blue sky reverb for example) as well but those are very expensive. But very good too, truth be told.

Re: Your favorite reverbs?
Thanks for the great replies, guys! I'm having a bad case of Christmas gas, trying to make it through lol! Debating on whether to get a reverb, and the POG2, or save up a little longer and buy an AC30/Reeves or something.

Not completely, the same pedal now exists as the "Chicklet". It's smaller and it comes with a "dwell" feature that was an available mod for the Spring Chicken. I own it and it's quite awesome sounding as well as the most space-saving pedal ever.jason41224 wrote:if you end up going the pedal route, try and dig up a Malekko Spring Chicken. those things were the shizz. too bad they were discontinued.
