Well, they will last the tube's lifetime anyways :D . I guess it depends how old you are. If you don't want to spend big money on NOS tubes, you might check out the new TAD 6V6, which is supposed to have comparable durability to the JJ, but with a more vintage (accurate) 6V6 sound.

My singer uses the RV50MKII and a PPC212 and keeps up with the rest of our band fine, so I'm sure it's something else....Good luck with it.

So, here's my last question, how long does it usually take for an amp tech to re-tube and bias an amp?? I have a local music shop that does it, but they're known for taking weeks. Also, there is a local amp tech that can also take weeks.. Would it be that hard to do it myself? What tools would i need??

^in a word, no. i don't know anything about biasing (hooray for cathode based amps!), but physically swapping the tubes takes a matter of minutes. and it's pretty simple, actually.

i used this video my first time out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vv2tQYl3cJE

It would take an experienced tech 15-30 minutes to do it.

Yeah +1, shouldn't be more than 1/2 to 1 hour labour charge unless there are any other problems.

Best to supply the new valves yourself. Buying them from a reliable online specialist supplier who tests / grades them properly and guarantees them for a limited period against early failure makes sense. You can specify which amp they will be used in and they'll be able to advise you.

Some techs will supply good quality valves themselves, but you don't always know what you are getting and basically don't usually get any choice in the matter!

if you've had the amp for 2 1/2 years and played it regularly, the tubes will definitely start to lose volume. especially if they're the stock tubes. i think orange use ehx or sovtek stock, and those last about 4-600 hours of play in my experience.
