Hey guys, I also have a 8x10 cab(newer) that runs just at 4 ohms. Would it be possible to rewire it so it runs at 16 ohms? I want to be able to run my head and cab at 16 ohms together so that i'm running the full plate current of my amp. Thanks a bunch guys for the previous posts!

At 8 ohms each, if they are connected 2 speakers each in series, then paralleled together you get 4 ohms.
If they are rewired so that 4 speakers each are in series, then paralleled together you get 16 ohms.
Each 4 speakers connected in series makes 32 ohms. Paralleling these together will equal 16.

How about this, rather than having the whole cab(all speakers) wired at 16 ohms, how about I have the top 4 speakers wired at 16 ohms and the bottom 4 speakers at 16 ohms and run the OR 120 at 8 ohms. Will this make for a louder more defined sound?

With 8 speakers at 8ohms each you can only get 4 or 16ohms.
You can't get 8ohms unless you use 16ohm speakers!
