My friend is getting married...

Post by Wendigo » Sat Oct 09, 2010 7:17 am

Hi all,

A friend of mine is getting married today. I am giving him and his wife some money, but I thought it might also be nice to get all of you to wish him well and then i can show him this thread as part of the gift. :D Maybe if nobody minds, even though you don't know him, you could all wish him and his wife well? His name is Deetch and he's a really great guy (and a fantastic guitarist!).

Congrats Deetch! I wish you and your bride the best of luck on your journey together. Also, it's very important you put your foot down early, so she knows who's in charge. Make sure you buy gear w/ the money Wendigo is giving you. Don't spend it on matching hand towels or pots and pans, or a new washer dryer set (unless of course you actually need one)... Once she knows that she's the pant wearer in the family, there's no going back. And you don't want her wearing pants do you?

I didn't think so...

Congrats again!!
Daniel.

Hey deetch, wish you and miss deetch all the best. And remember when things get rough, it's for better or worse.
Like DOPP238 said you wear the pants, she wears the bra :D .

Yo Deetch.

This cash you're getting, whatever you do, make the first thing you buy with it a gift for her. This will be an excellent move because it leaves the field open to then introduce the idea of pool tables, arcade machines, widescreen TVs and all kinds of other good stuff.

Congrats dude.

Best of luck in your marriage! Remember that communication is the key. It helps to have an end game in mind as well.

A few years back, when I turned the big 40, I asked my wife to choose my midlife crisis for me.

1) Buy a Porsche and fill it with mistresses
2) Buy lots of guitars and amps and start a band and play music in bars and at house parties and embassy functions (no joke) and in my backyard and...

By the way, I catch zero grief when I come home with new gear.

Regards,
Rob
