OR 120 + vintage AMPEG 2x15 (ohm question)

I have this vintage ampeg bass 2x15 cab that has a 2 way switch to run it either at 4 ohms or at 16 ohms. I've noticed when I run it in the 4 ohms position, it's not really that loud. Would it be louder in the 16 ohm position? Thanks a bunch!

It depends..... what are you plugged into in the back of your amp?
Have you TRIED running the amp with it switched the other way?
