Has anyone noticed that they don't seem to get as much of a treble response when they turn up the treble knob on their AD30 twin channel head? I used to own a Marshall JCM 800 and always had to turn the treble down because it screamed. I can't seem to get the boost out my amp that I'd like. I'm always playing with the tone controls, but can't seem to find that "bite" that I'm looking for. Any suggestions? Any good treble boosters out there that won't mess with my already "smooth" tone? I'm not a big fan of effects. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hmmmmmm....I just found out the answer to my own question. By exchanging the 12AX7 tubes in the preamp for 7025 tubes, I get a brighter tone and a bit more gain. Thank you "self". (laughing)

Hey-
I have an AD140Custom that also lacks high end-
will chaging the preamp tube have the same result?
