Hi!
I recently came across this cabinet (someone is offering it to me) and I have absolutely no idea what model it is, what year it is from, or how it sounds..
I have some info:
Orange Bass Cabinet (1970something)
1x15 / 8ohm / 100w
Says EV, Electro Voice?
Any info on this cab? How much would a fair price be?
(I included a picture of it)

with horns - I'd put £200 or $300 down on that.
without - £100 or $150.
I have had a few of these cabs, and the weight to sound ratio isn't worthwhile for your back!

It IS going to be a beast to move- EV should mean Electro Voice speakers. Don't know how these sound, but I'd bet the modern ones sound a lot better.
Still, if you can get it for cheap money, I'd go for it!

The new EV 15's will handle a heck of a lot more than 100 watts too, but then again so will any other modern 15. Swapping woofers might give you the best of both worlds with an old school, really efficient (read loud), folded 15 cab and higher power handling.
The fact is bass stuff is heavy. Bass players that complain about the weight of their gear get no sympathy from me. Not that an Orange 4x12 is a lightweight either. If it's a good price and you have the space I'd get it.

If it sounds like poo it still would make a cool looking stage prop or conversation piece. Maybe a night stand? Bar table?

that's actually a PA speaker if i remember correctly. those folded horn designs were made for their PA.
i vote for either going with the new obc115 (killer cab, love it) or going all out vintage and getting the 2x15 reflector cab.

Starting in the early 1970s, this 1x15" cab was marketed as the Bouncer Bass with the option of fitting the horn units to then use as a full frequency range PA/Disco cab -
which was called the Bouncer Horn.
Check out the 1971 & 1973 catalogues in the website's Downloads section for more tech spec - it looks
like the EV version was introduced around 1973.
I agree with Mark that the 2x15" Reflector/Reflex/Parabla is the real collectors item.
A way-ahead design unique to Orange, the internal cab construction (curved plywood) was honed and developed during the early 1970s.
The 2x15" Reflex was also available as part of the 1979 Series Two range to be used with the 120 watt Super Bass head.

Well, it looks awesome and sounds awesome (insanely big). Its gonna be hell to move to shows and stuff... BUT, the guy who´s selling it is asking about 1000$ .. so I'll think I'll just check out something else
I just wanted another cab to go along with my Sunn 2x15 bass cab
