Just got this in an email from Motu for Digital Performer. Looks sweet and I'm sure the trend will catch on for other DAWs if it hasn't already.
I remember spending a good chunk of money on a Mackie DAW interface 7 years ago or so and this would make life a hell of a lot more simple than that thing did. I do really like the portability of the iPod too. It's always a pain to track vocals or voice overs by myself because I'll have to hit the keyboard and to the mic, Stop, go to the keyboard, back to the mic, ad nauseum.
This might be an excuse to upgrade the my system, although if I was continuously writing I wouldn't really need an excuse.
