Tonight right after the soccer game we're playing as part of an hommage to Alex Chilton and Big Star.
Any fans here?

September Gurls is such an amazing song. I like all their stuff, but that song is just amazing.

I had the honour to work with Big Star.

Some of the nicest men ever, period. Such a great loss!

wow. Pretty close, wasn't it?
If only they had scored another goal, I would just have relaxed a little.
I don't know how my nails are still in place. They'll be all around the floor on sunday though!

Wow, that's really cool man.
I got to big star (shame on me!) through teenage fanclub via the posies, so when I saw them a few years ago in benicassim, it was like realizing how everything was connected. I could hear the "click" in my head, if you know what I mean.

BTW the gig was cool, too few people but hey, there they were thirteen, september gurls, thank you friends, and even some obscure songs like Holocaust, as well as "alex chilton" from the replacements!

sugar-added sidenote: it was our last gig with our guitar player as he is moving to Germany (poor him!) at the end of the month, so all together it was a night to remember.

^That must have been an incredible show! I know a few folk who have went to Spain for Benicassim (last year I think) and only had great things to say about it.

Also, I had a fiver each on Spain (at 9/2) and Germany (at 14/1) so I'm pretty gutted about the semi-final, but as long as I make a profit I'll be content.

The Netherlands and Spain are probably the two teams I'd support after Scotland (and, of course, whoever's playing England  ) so I'm looking forward to the final.
