I use a Maxon OD808 in front of my RV100, sounds great.

I use a Big Muff and a Lovepedal Eternity Kanji. I've tried a bunch of others and these two are the only 2 I have kept.

i use an Xotic RC booster or the MXR MC401 Boost Pedal.
both work great with the R30's dirty channel

does the MC401 get more gain boost or just volume?

I had a big muff but sold it because running it into the rocker with some gain sounded like running it into a boss SD-1.. witch isn't a very "likeable" sound

getting a Maxon would be a hassle for me but I could get myself a T-rex alberta.. I would be in the same ballpark right?

the MXR MC401 boosts the guitar signal by the amount you dial in on it's one knob.
it pushes the front end of the amp and depending upon how you have the amp set, gain will increase (think hot pickups vs. weaker pickups) the gain comes from the amp not the pedal.
i have heard that using this pedal in an fx loop can give a large increase in volume.

i like the Xotic pedal a bit better because it is slightly darker (i'm using an orange 2x12 ob cab) and it can just boost or you can dial in gain as well.

Maxon OD-9 works great here, bought it for that exact purpose.

I only use the Big Muff on the clean channel. Haven't tried running it on the Dirty channel. I imagine it would sound a bit muddy.

Ive used a Rothwell treble boost for quite a while and that was excellent recemtly started using a MXR GT OD which also works very well with the dirty channel. Ive got a Digitech Hardwire Distortion and found that good a pedal used on a clean channel but not so good as a boost.....but if your talking boosts I would also use the guitar volume knob.

does the GT OD work well in boosting the drive channel into more gain, I'm talking if I have the drive channel dimed? or does it sound like crapalap?
