Rockerverb + 1x12...any good?
I picked up an Orange 1x12 for my on-the-way Rockerverb and am wondering how it will sound. It is pretty small and light but can I expect a decent sound? Anyone use this set-up?
Re: Rockerverb + 1x12...any good?
I use that same set up at home for practicing and have also used it for a few shows. I have also noticed that it projects WAY more than my Marshall 4x12 (its a cheap one however). I don't think that you will be disappointed.
Re: Rockerverb + 1x12...any good?
the 112 won't have the bass response that a 412 will have, but it'll sound just fine.

You'll be working the Vintage 30 a little harder than you would with a PPC212 or PPC412, which should liven up the sound a bit at lower volumes. I'd say it's a good way to go unless you need to play at full power for shows, which would be unlikely.

Yeah, there's nothing inherently wrong with this. It'll sit a bit awkwardly on top (I think the Rv50 quite a bit wider than the ppc112).

nope. the RV50 (Mk1) i played recently with the ppc112 at my store worked out just fine - almost perfect fit.indianDYsummer wrote:Yeah, there's nothing inherently wrong with this. It'll sit a bit awkwardly on top (I think the Rv50 quite a bit wider than the ppc112).

White head on a white cab with a TU2 against a white wall.
If it weren't for the tan mesh on the cab I may have missed it completely

PPC 112 works for me it's perfect for using at home for recording in my situation, and i think the RV head sitting on it is exactly the same size, and looks cool as hell

Re: Rockerverb + 1x12...any good?
Thanks for all of the helpful replies. My RV should be here tomorrow, but I have two more questions. I will mostly be playing this at low volumes but like the versatility of being able to play in a band situation when needed. I have read conflicting reports that it sounds great at lower levels-I have heard it has a great master volume. Obviously not as good as being opened up, but how is it at low volumes?
Also, the manual doesn't address the purpose/effect of the damping switch on the back. Can anyone elaborate?

The Rockerverbs have the best low volume tone I have ever heard for an amp that size.
