New forum member with new Orange 412...

So here we are!

Actually I haven't even played it yet, cause we got a little water running through the ceiling in our practice space(!) and it's beeing repaired at the moment. Luckily nothing serious though.

The one on the top is the new one as you can tell. Straight from the local music store loaded with V30's. My goal is to get some Celestion Golds in it some day.

Hope you enjoy! (I know I do...)

You can take a spray bottle of water to that cab with caved weave and it will perk it right up when it dries. Mine get a bit saggy and it helps. Congrats man. I love my stack.

Actually I did that after taking the photos and it did straight up a bit, but not entirely. Maybe I'll try it again later...

What I noticed when I stacked the cabs was, that the new one is probably 1/4 inch (or less) wider than the old one. Doesn't bother me though. Have anyone else noticed this difference, or is it just the tolerance they're making these?

Oh yeah, the jackplate is metal instead of plastic (like in the old cab) so that is an improvement.

Hope I get to play it soon!

I know it's OT but nice Flexi-50. I just got one in Dec and am really impressed with it. What have you found to be your Pre/Power tube layout?

Awesome stack too. I have yet to jump in the 4x12 realm mainly because I don't want to think about moving it... ever.

Thanks for the comments!

I just had to change the power tubes to some svetlana EL34s. I had these EHX 6L6s running pretty hot, but they sounded big and beautiful. After a couple years they just wore off.. didn't have the power anymore. Svetlanas seem to bee pretty stiff feeling, though I didn't bias them as hot as the EHXs.

Actually my main amp is getting maintenance so that's why the Flexi on top right now. The real beast is called Monster. It's a Finnish amp builder and my amp is from 1969! 120 watts of pure loudness! I might post some pics of it when I get it back...

whenever i stack my cabs, I seem to get this weird optical illusion that makes the one on top seem bigger, no matter which of the two is on top, but as far as actual physical size, mine are the same. What year is your old cab from? Is it one of the USA made cabs? no telling. looks great, either way.

I'm prone to those illusions you're mentioning and these glasses I'm wearing wont help either...

The old cab is from '05 I think, made in England.

The difference isn't much (if at all), so nothing to get bothered with really. I'm just happy I finally have my dream stack! You all know those Oranges are the best cabs in the world.
