Intelligent drums in Logic?

So any tips on getting some good rhythms out of logic? I just bought the NI Abbey Road 60's drum samples and I plan on using MIDI patterns in Logic to drive it.

What do you non drummers do to gen some rhythm tracks?

My other option is to use my Korg Electribe as a pattern sequencer and feed that into Logic via MIDI. I don't want to use audio loops because I want to take advantage of the cool Abbey Road drum samples.
