my or120
I find that my vintage or120 is sometimes somewhat "farty" sounding. it's like its lacking some clarity. my tech says that the amp has been moded a bit...that some resistors were added. could this be the reason, or the preamp tubes which are rather old?

Hey Wrath,
Without knowing more about what and where the resisters, it is hard to say if they could be the cause. It is possible, though, that if someone got in there and modded your amp they could have done something that could be the cause. I don't know if I've ever experienced my preamp tubes making my amp "farty", but if you suspect them, just pop the tubes out of your other Orange (you still have it, a Rockerverb?) and try them out to see how it sounds. I'm wondering if the resistors added weren't just 1K for checking the bias. Good luck, I know you love that amp.
BTW, did you ever replace the power tubes in that guy? maybe the bias is off on them.
