Hey there all. Since I've had my rockverb 50 combo I've noticed when I play at really low volumes, say from 0 to 8 o'clock, my amp sound high endy and fizzy. Sometimes I can find a spot at the low volume setting where it sounds fine but sometimes it jumps back to the fizzy sound. Turning it up louder solves the problem.
I've had my amp for at least a year now and never posted about it because it's not a big deal, I'm just curious what causes it. I couldn't say I've had this experience with any other tube amps because the only other one I've had was my first amp, an old peavey bravo that's sitting in storage and I don't rememeber it doing this.
Like I said, not a big deal because I know 50 watt tube amps aren't made to be played at whisper levels, I'm just curious.
Weird sounds on a Rockerverb at low volumes

That would be the preamp gain talking at low volumes. At higher volumes you get tube break up. Also...
How do you EQ your amp?
What guitar and pickups are you using?
Are you using any EQ pedals or dirt pedals in front of the amp?
