Re: OT:Who have you seen live in your lifetime
i've seen so many bands in such a short amount of time that its hard to keep track of em all.
so far, radiohead, muse and steely dan have been the best shows i've seen. the black keys were great too.
looking forward to seeing Air in LA soon. its at the walt disney too which should be amazing.
i saw van halen on their last tour with sammy and i have to say it sucked.

Yeah, my buddy said that they claimed to be vampires, and they kept bottles filled with blood. He said one time they asked him to go get some, and Peter Steele asked him why he was afraid of him. He told him, "Why are you afraid of me, I won't bite you".bclaire wrote:Frank's really into them and I went along... always saw them around Halloween in Boston-they're a little scary....flea wrote:Lol, one of my buddies used to be one of their road techs. Lots, but the 3 that stick out are Pink Floyd in the Royal Albert Hall, Seasick Steve and the 2000 Reading festival.
At Reading we mostly just camped out the main stage, and saw Oasis, Muse, QOTSA, the Foo's, Pulp, Beck, the Stereophonics, Rage Against the Machine, Placebo, Blink and best of all At the Drive in. Was the first and best festival I've ever been to.

Too much letters for me.
Wouldn't this thread be more interesting if we listed say, our top 3 concerts of all time?
Or theme based like "Who saw The Who and where and what year?"

Re: OT:Who have you seen live in your lifetime
I should have added that I saw the New York Dolls in 1975 and the recent Dolls reunited. The 1975 show was when they were on their way down- using backline provided by whatever opener and at a Chinese restaurant. We were right up front- it was an awesome show! PA blew out three times- first time they waited- second time they launched into the Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse theme song- third time they left the stage. We yelled "Killer.... do a solo!" and he stopped and turned back but only got a couple of steps before they yanked him offstage!
Re: OT:Who have you seen live in your lifetime
Wishbone Ash/Camel fantastic show!
Jethro Tull- Maybe the best show I ever saw.
Lynyrd Skynyrd(the original) The were hot back in the day.In your face R&R.
REO Speedwagon
Rush
Blue Oyster Cult -These guys could play
Ted Nugent
Mahogany Rush- Unreal both then and now.Frank Marino may be the best guitarist I have ever seen.
Genesis
Kansas
Nektar
Pink Floyd -A once in a lifetime experience
Dire Straits-Mark was touring with the first album.Excellent guitar playing.
Yes-This was a very tight group with a lot of talent!Head music for sure.
Emerson ,Lake,and Palmer
Bob Dylan
The Electric Light Orchestra
The Moody Blues
John McLaughlin-What a talent!
The Pat Metheny Group-You have to see these guys live.I have seen them many times.Pat is in his own world.
BB King -A world class act
Buddy Guy
Diana Krall
Robin Trower-Still unbelievable
Eric Johnson
The Dixie Dreggs
Boston-This show sucked. The worst live act I ever saw.
Heart
The Allman Brothers Band-These guys have a special place in my heart.Worth the price anytime.
The Derek Trucks Band
That is all I can think of at the present, but there are others.
Fripp, where the hell is Robert Fripp. That is the link I am missing.
Jethro Tull- Maybe the best show I ever saw.

That's a pretty awesome pairing for a show - twice no less. I wonder which set of brothers hate each other more.bclaire wrote:...

I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd twice in the 1990's
