Orange Retro 50, does anyone have one ?

Post by SirJackdeFuzz » Sat Jan 09, 2010 8:46 pm

Hi there good people from the Orange Amp Forum.

Does anyone have an Orange Retro 50 head ?
If so, do you have any clips ?
Utoob suck at Retro clips.

Another very important question : how much are they now ?
I can not get a price so far, does anyone know ?

Thanx to all !

Sorry for being unhelpful, but we're not allowed to discuss prices on current production Oranges! I hope someone else can help you with sound clips etc ;)

The reason is that Orange directly own this forum and it's their wish that we don't discuss the prices of in-production models - http://forum.orangeamps.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3509 - I guess because they would rather you bought from a dealer for the standard price that all dealers have to sell for, rather than finding them second hand, or whatever. If you type it into Google you will quickly find shops and prices.

As you're based in South Africa, maybe you should try contacting Orange's South African distributor and asking them for your local pricing and sourcing options:

Now way, SA stores have been rape'ing us with prices since we got electricity.

I will rather buy in the UK on one of my trips there !

Ah, I didn't know you came to the UK - go to google.co.uk, it'll bring up all the shops which stock the amp and prices fairly near the top of your search.

I think the rules are also to prevent this forum ending up a trading forum and not a discussion forum.

Don't think you'll find anyone in stock. A custom are built by Oranges Chief Engineer Ade after it's ordered and payed for, (my Retro was shipped after some of weeks). There are some samples in the thread on top here, and there is also a vid with Ade demonstrating the Customs somewhere on the net (can't remember where though.)

I do - have a listen at http://www.myspace.com/savingaimee" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - all the rhythm parts are Retro.

and youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbG7SPsRC2c" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

if you look at this guys videos - all Justin's guitars are Retro 50 through a Cornford 412.

ARE YOU SURE ?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TtL5Xn0 ... re=related" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - no orange to be seen.

just watched four Hot Leg clips and did not spot a single Orange Amp, never mind a Retro50.
