I cannot afford a 412 Orange cab... So i will be ordering one from Avatar. On their website it looks as if they make all orders custom.. so how should i order it to make it as close as possible to orange's 412 cab?

Just order it with 4 v30s. I prefer the hellatone 60s, they are a v30, just broken in.

Avatar makes some very solid cabs. I think they're amazing, and the price can't be beat.

I'm guessing going with the orange and the wheat grill, and then black piping and black corners if you can manage. If they don't do black corners, I'd buy some METAL black corners (the plastic ones are doomed to break): http://www.mojotone.com/amp-parts/Corne ... 8Ta38MaNb0

Not exactly, but pretty close. You wont notice from a few feet.

hmmm i'm wondering if it might be worth it to just get a black cab then, because the Orange tolex looks great with the black cabs, but if it's not that bad of a difference i might just go with orange tolex

To be honest, orange has used several slightly different shades of orange on their products, so you could have a slight mismatch on even an orange cab. Like Scott said though, I don't think it would make that big a difference.

i have an avatar 112 in that exact config - orange/wheat, no piping tho and it looks just fine. my 212 from them was also orange/wheat no piping and it had hellatones in it. i didn't like'em with the TT.

i gotta start figureing out how to post pics.

but avatar are great, solid cabs. and the price is generally right.

I have a traditional 412 cab from Avatar, and it's a great piece of kit. I want to get an unloaded contemporary one now and put EV 12L's in it.

Contemporary is the "Orange-styled" cabinet. If you get it with the right colors, they only thing that should look off is the logo, and you'll get the good low end characteristic of Orange cabs.

The pattern on the tolex is different (faux leather on the cab vs. tweedish texture on the Orange head) and the color is sligggggghtly off, but it took me weeks to notice, and you can't tell at any distance over two feet.

I would go for the Avatar any day. So many speaker options and cab styles that just aren't there with the Orange cab.

I'm using anOrange OB 212 cab while I'm waiting on my 212 cb to arrive. The cab has a lighter shade of orange than my rv50 head. Very noticable even from 10 feet....
