THAT'S what I've been doing wrong all this time! Thanks Wendigo! ;)

Honestly, I'd go with a 20 watt tube amp that has a full tone stack (bass, middle, and treble controls). I get some great "woman tone" out of my Vintage 16 with the treble low and the mids up a bit.

Carvin's Vintage 16 is a great amp to be had on the cheap: http://www.carvinguitars.com/products/s ... =VINTAGE16.

Valve Amps has some great going-out-of-business sales going on, you can get a new 20 watt amp for $200: http://storesense4.megawebservers.com/v ... gories.bok.

i cant help much with the whole tone thing, as i was talked out of buying that amp and ended up with a Vox ad30vt (and havnt stopped GASing for an Orange since, although that shall be no more from tomorrow, providing the money had gone into my bank account) but you just got to keep practising and remember you can get so much more out of your guitar if you use your guitars volume and tone knobs.

Despite now solely rocking an Orange, I've owned the Vox AD50vt for around 3 years and would never sell that amp. For a hybrid solid state/valve amp I find it exceptional, with a ton of features. Some amazing tones to be found in that badboy! :D
