Alex, question for Orange Inc.

Post by Aslan » Sun Dec 20, 2009 12:20 pm

I've seen several Orange amps that I would consider buying used but they have multiple rips and paint etc. on the tolex to the point that they need recovering. Will Orange sell the tolex they use on their amps or will they recover a head or combo if I sent it to the main headquarters? I know that mojotone.com will recover amps but can they get the proper orange colored tolex?

Well I'm not Alex but I figured I'd throw in my 2 cents.

I have 2 1x12 and an AD30 and honestly all 3 have different colored Orange tolexes. I would doubt that Orange has an "official" tolex that is used each and every time.

I'd say go for an orange with the right texture style and you'd be set.

Hey Thinline_Slim,

The answer is yes and no. Unfortunately in your case it is no. I don't sell our tolex or grill cloth for re-covering used amps. I can only sell these items under warranty.

There is one tolex that I've found to be the most similar to ours. It is found here: http://www.thevintagesound.com/store/ro ... p-128.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Also, while our shades of orange tolex have changed slightly over the years, we've pretty much nailed the exact color at this point.

I have some of the Mojotone stuff and it's very close. Actually, I've seen two 'official' Orange cabs have tolexes that were more different than this one is to my cab, so there you go!
