I'm not sure of the tolex question, but when you daisy chain two 8 ohm cabs, the load is 4 ohms.

No, sorry, I made the same mistake when I bought my first Orange. You need two 16 ohm cabs for that.

ok, cheers
how about if you daisy chanin 1x 8ohm and 1x 16 ohm?

do you get 12 ohm? and therefore you could run it ut of the 8ohm output?

No, that would not be good. Mismatching with tube amps is not a good thing.

i think you'd be ok running at 12 on 8. I think alot of 6x12's that claim to be 8ohms are really around 12ohm (24ohm parallel 24ohm). you don't have to worry as much when you aren't talking about running 8ohms from 16, or 4 from 8ohms. you could give it a shot, just watch your amp carefully and try not to play full volume. the 16ohm cab is going to get most of the output, though.

you could possibly rewire the cabs as another option, depending on what ohm speakers your dealing with.

Edit: Sooner is right, though. you would be running a 5.3ohm load. I overlooked that. not a good idea.

No. You get 5.33 ohms.

If you daisychain two 16ohms, do you connect it to the 8ohm output? If so, does that mean that you can connect two other daisychained cabs to the other output, running a total of two fullstacks, 4x412?

If you have two 16 ohm cabs, you connect it to the 8 ohm output, yes. As for connecting two more 16 ohm cabs, it would change the impedance again. I would figure it would drop it to 4, but I'm not sure.

Youre right, Orange says never connect two 8ohms.

You can connect a cabinet to each of the 8ohm outputs on your amp, but only if they're 16ohm cabs, not 8ohm.
