ive recently got a Lil'59b for my strat and im going to put it in the neck of position ( i know its a bridge model but i was assured it will work fine but just be a little hotter bythe good people of this forum). i had planned to go down to my gran and grandads and solder it with my grandad, however it arrived to late and they have now gone on holiday to egypt for 2 weeks.

Im dying to put it in as i need to change the strings and pickguard aswell, makes more sence to do it all at once rather than 3 seperate jobs. what sort of soldering iron would i need to buy? and how hot would i need to have it ?

Hey Blenk, you might be interested to stroll down this thread that came up recently. It's about soldering guitar cables, but it's basically the same techniques I'd recommend for soldering just about anything.

Any other questions - pop back and ask. Make sure you practice your soldering technique on some scraps of wire and metal before putting iron to your precious guitars!
