So much for no more GAS for a while... NGD!

Post by kmlabs » Wed Oct 28, 2009 11:46 am

I've been on a bit of a selling purge and offloaded a couple of guitars, and got another one sold but not paid for yet... but then yesterday I found this:

Image

Sparrow Rat Rod Pro, at a ridiculously cheap price from DV247, ex-display.

So I pulled the trigger. I've been fancying one for ages (I'm a sucker for flames!), and I've read nothing but good reviews, so I had to go for it :)

It should be here tomorrow, so I'll try and get some real photos and a review over the weekend!

I'd never heard of DV247 until the other day when I was looking for my Radial Tonebone ABY and MXR Micro Amp and they came up the cheapest in total. And I've found their notifications to be pretty good. An email to confirm the order, andother to say it's been confirmed and then one to say it's been shipped. Some shops I get the confirmation and then nothing else.

Payne, yeah I've found that too. I even had a text this morning confirming that they'll be delivering the guitar today. My girlfriend's got a day off too, so hopefully she'll be there to sign for it when it arrives! \o/

Yeah I got the same today too! I also got an emai lform the courier saying they'll be delivering today, between 7am and 8pm. Thats a massive window, for which I'm at work for most of it, but out mail room closes at about 5pm!! I'm sure it'll be here by then!

3 hours to go then! I may drop the mail room an email to let them know. Although the tracking says it's still out for delivery. We shall see!

Payne, did you get it? My girlfriend had to go out for a while, so with monotonous predictability, she got home to a "We tried to deliver" card.

I've arranged to collect it from the depot tomorrow...

*checks clock again*

Yeha it turned up at about 4.30. I can't try the ABY out yet though as my second amp is still to arrive!

Hope you get your guitar dude!

GAS = Gear Acquisition Syndrome - being hooked on acquiring more gear. Not all bad, though, 'cos everyone seems to find that new gear tends to inspire practice and creativity :-)

Finally picked it up this morning! Had a busy day so haven't had it through the Rockerverb yet, but first impressions are excellent. Build quality is fantastic, finish is superb, and the neck is really comfortable (although about twice the size of the necks on just about all my other guitars!). Unplugged sound is great, and through my Micro Cube the pickups sound perfect for the music I play.

Proper review soon, once I get a chance to sit down and plug it into my RV :)
