For the first time in 2 years I am Orangeless.

Greetings all, long time no talk!

Today I traded my Rocker 30 Combo for a Fender Blues Deluxe (1994, I believe, if online reportage of amp-dating are to be believed), and a bit of left over cheddar/scrilla/cashola. I drove up to Beltsville, MD (I truly hate driving anywhere within 40 miles of Washington DC, ugh) to try to trade it for the Blues Deluxe or an Ampeg Reverberocket 2x12 combo - but the Ampeg had been sold yesterday (balls!).

What can I say? I already miss Orange, but the Rocker 30 was just not for me. It was an awesome amp, but I couldn't find my sweet spot with it. I already LOVE the Blues Deluxe. Built in reverb is :D .

How did I live without a Presence knob on my tube amp for all these years? I know not.

Anyway, I may be Orangeless, but I plan on sticking around and pestering you all intermittently every now and then.

How is everybody else?

What a great forum this is!

"I've sold my Orange, loved it but it wasn't right for me, now I have a Fender"

And the response is "They're great amps!"

Just about any other forum I go on would be full of "OMG Fender sux ur gay lol" and similar :)

Sorry, I just had too......

That presence knob could come in handy. Not big fan of fender except for the bassman RI 59 (I think), but I really fancy one of those Matamp with one.....

Agreed! That's why this is one of only 3 forums I visit on the regular. The two others don't even pertain to music gear (one a band, t'other a TV show).

No matter what, I'll always keep this place bookmarked as long as I continue to use and purchase music gear.

Though, I may need to get a Crush (or maybe, one day, an AD-5) for practice and bedroom-jam situations.

i really want an old deluxe 5e3 circuit right now...ya - i've got a little GAS. just love those cleans-to-mild breakup sound...and then kick in my TT for the SEX.

it's ok - you don't NEED to own an orange for this forum...'cause it seems like eventually everyone goes back to one.

Hey, we're all on a tone quest! And the bottom line is, as much as I love my tone with Oranges, if my touch was such that an Orange wasn't right, I'd have a different amp! Fortunately for me, I love Oranges and I happen to sound good through Oranges!

But that said, I wouldn't mind having a Fender Deville!

If you need an Orange to keep up your "Street Cred" on the forum, you can have my Crush 30R.

Seriously, you're gay if you like Fenders. I have a 1968 Bassman.

Greetings back, and yeah, feel free to stick around! :D

Shame the R.30 didn't work out for you in the end, but you've got to find what really suits. And plenty of us here do know there are more good things to life then just Orange amps.

Who knows though, maybe you'll even come back to the fold when you realise that old Oranges did always had presence controls...

Good luck!

Andy.

Everything changes including musical tastes and directions. Its a shame we cant all own different makes of Amps to go to when we want a certain sound.
